Neurodivergent-affirming therapy for autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD adults
– we all need the right conditions to grow
Whether you’re exploring neurodivergence, recently diagnosed, self-identified, or have known for years, I can support you. Together, we’ll work to understand yourself more deeply, reduce shame, and develop coping strategies that work with your brain, not against it.
A different kind of therapy
Traditional therapy often focuses on confronting and changing aspects of yourself to fit societal expectations. For neurodivergent people, this can feel exhausting or even harmful - leaving you feeling like you're not trying hard enough or that something is fundamentally wrong with you.
Neurodivergent-affirming therapy recognises neurodivergence as a natural neurological difference - not a flaw or deficit. Instead of changing who you are, we focus on:
- self-understanding
- nervous system care
- reducing shame
- emotional regulation
- identity, belonging, and safety
This approach particularly supports people navigating late diagnosis, burnout, rejection sensitivity, sensory overwhelm, or long histories of feeling misunderstood.
What we may explore together
- understanding your nervous system and sensory needs
- emotional regulation and burnout recovery
- experiences of rejection, misunderstanding, or trauma
- masking, identity, and authenticity
- internalised shame and ableism
- relationships and communication
- creating sustainable routines and supports
My approach is collaborative. You’re the expert in your experience; my role is to support, understand, and help you build a life that fits you.
